Abstract
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksploratif. Penelitian penjajagan dalam arkeologi merupakan
penelitian awal dari suatu obyek. Hasil penelitian penjajagan ini menemukan masih adanya situs-situs
di Majene, Sulawesi Barat, berupa bagunan masjid purbakala di Salabose, serta empat buah makam
penyiar Islam pertama di Majene. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan adanya naskah-naskah
klasik berupa Alquran tulisan tangan, naskah khutbah, dan bendera.
