Authors who publish with Al-Qalam agree to the following terms:
- Copyright in articles published by Al-Qalam remains with the author(s). No transfer of copyright ownership from the author(s) to Al-Qalam or its publisher is required.
- By publishing an article in Al-Qalam, the author(s) grant the journal the non-exclusive right of first publication. The author(s) also authorize Al-Qalam to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, archive, preserve, index, and identify itself as the original publisher of the article.
- All articles published in Al-Qalam are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
- Under this license, users may copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format and may remix, transform, and build upon the material for non-commercial purposes, provided that the terms of the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license are followed. These terms include giving appropriate credit, providing a link to the license, indicating whether changes were made, and distributing adapted material under the same license.
- Al-Qalam should be acknowledged as the journal of first publication. Where available, users are encouraged to include the article title, author name(s), volume, issue, year of publication, DOI, and official publication link when citing or redistributing the article.
- Authors may enter into separate contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of their articles, including depositing the article in an institutional or subject repository, publishing it on a personal or institutional website, or including it in a thesis, dissertation, book, or other scholarly publication, provided that the original publication in Al-Qalam is properly acknowledged.
- Authors may deposit the submitted manuscript, accepted manuscript, and published version of their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, or other appropriate repositories without an embargo period.
- When depositing, reproducing, or redistributing the published version, authors should acknowledge Al-Qalam as the journal of first publication and provide the article’s DOI or official publication link where available.
- Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted third-party materials included in their articles. Materials excluded from the article’s Creative Commons license must be clearly identified through an appropriate copyright notice or credit statement.
