Abstract

Pesantren dalam perkembangan menunjukkan keragaman dalam bentuk corak dan orientasinya. Terdapat lima pilar dominan, pesantren salah satunya adalah pengajian kitab sebagai identitas utamanya. Penelusuran terhadap sejumlah pesantren di lokasi penelitian, melalui studi dokumen, observasi, dan wawancara, menunjukkan bahwa pengajian kitab kuning belum menjadi pilihan seluruh pesantren, kecuali pesantren Darul Mukhlisin dan Minhajussunnah kitab kuning menjadi acuan utama bagi pembelajaran di pesantrennya. Atas realitas itu, menghendaki perhatian yang besar para pengelola pesantren dan pihak terkait untuk menjadikan pengajian kitab sebagai pilar penguat pesantren ke depan.
